To flush the system use a coolant system flush solution or a 50/50 mix of distilled water and white distilled vinegar. The coolant system should be flushed to avoid mixing if changing to a new coolant type. These types of coolants should only be used with approval from the vehicle’s OEM. Install the coolant drain bolt with a new sealing washer. Remove the drain bolt and sealing washer and allow the coolant to drain into a suitable container. Allow any built up pressure to vent and then open the cap all the way and remove it.
